The benefits of using our Applicators or dosers for the automatic dosing or treatment of fuel are:
- It dispenses the correct amount of fuel additive for each fuel fill without any input from the driver or operator.
- You can rest easy knowing that the fuel is being correctly treated with your choice of fuel additive.
What dispensing control options can our Applicators support?
Towai Technologies' Fuel Additive Applicators are able to support the full range of dispensing options, including the following:
- Fuel tank level senders - both analogue and digital - for vehicles, machines and vessels.
- Flowmeter in a fuel delivery system - supports the full range of delivery fuel flows pressures.
- Vehicle's onboard computer - supports both the J1939 (CAN) and J1708 (RS485) protocol networks.
- Keypad entry of the volume of fuel added - with a full numeric keypad, an LCD screen, and a menu driven programme as an optional extra.
Can our Applicators be used for any fuel additive?
Yes they can. The dosing ratio is adjustable and can be set to the ratio of any of the known fuel additives.
What is the effect of temperature on additive viscosity?
Additives can range from solvent types with temperature having little effect on viscosity to more viscous types where temperature has a marked effect; ie, the volume of additive dispensed could vary by a factor of up to 5 through temperatures changes.
Our Fuel Additive Applicators take into account the effect of the ambient temperature on the pumpability and flow rates of the additive based on the effect of temperature changes on viscosity. This is used in the Applicator Control Board calculations to ensure that the correct volume of additive is dispensed for varying climatic temperature conditions.
They also have the means to control the minimum temperature and hence viscosity of the additive by having a heater fitted as an optional extra, which is necessary in colder climates.
How is the volume of additive dispensed controlled?
The volume of fuel additive dispensed is controlled by the length of time that the solenoid valves fitted to the fuel tanks are activated by the Applicator Control Board while the additive pump is running.
The Applicator provides for up to four fuel tanks having a different runs of tubing with different pressure drops.
Is the operational data stored?
Yes it is. The operational data of total additive used and total fuel treated plus the total number of doses and missed doses through low additive level is stored in the Applicator Control Board non volatile memory, which can be accessed.
What material is our Applicator tanks made from?
Our Applicator tanks are made from VX562 HDPE (high density polyethylene), which complies with EU TUV Regulation ECE R34, Part 1, Annex 5 EU Directive 70/221/EEC for Diesel tank applications. The tanks are manufactured using the rotational moulding method.
As an option, we can also supply stainless steel Applicator tanks.
Can the initial dosing rates be increased?
Yes they can. Our Applicators have the means to double the dosing ratio for a set number of the initial fuel fills. The number of fuel fills for double dosing is set on installation. Many additive suppliers recommend increasing the dosing ratio for the initial fuel fills to provide a boost to the cleaning properties.
Are our Applicator self-contained?
Yes they are. All of the components are housed within a weather tight compartment / tank recess.
Are our Fuel Additive Applicator Systems autonomous?
Yes they are. They are autonomous systems with a self-contained Fuel Additive Applicator comprising all of the components connected to the:
- fuel tank(s) via the additive tubing and solenoid valve(s);
- fuel level sender unit; and the,
- power supply.
